Continued from part 4:
To was pleased to see that Maggie's defeat by the tribeswoman Matambi
didn't put
her off fighting, and she was soon back in the ring fighting better than
she had done before. Now that I was "managing" Maggie I was able
to control her drinking and whoring, so that she was fitter and stronger
than she had been for several years.
One day, while out on the trail, we were visited by
Xhoti who said that he would be very
honored if Maggie would be willing to fight his new wife Na'koga.
He said that Maggie would be well rewarded for the fight with a golden
trophy. At the mention of gold both Maggie and my eyes lit up!
It had long been rumored that the Mguni tribe had access to a plentiful
source of gold, but so far no outsider had actually got their hands on any
of it. So Maggie agreed without hesitation to take on this
challenge and the very next day we headed, with Xhoti, for Mguni
territory....
Here are is the opening stage of the
fight to give you some idea of the action: |
